Glitter balls

Every year since my children were very little, they have each made a glitter ball for the tree. This has meant that our tree is decorated with lots of special memories every year. You will need to get the following:

Polystyrene balls (craft shops stock them)
PVA glue
Glitter (lots of different colours)
Sequins, beads, sparkly things
Ribbon
Glass-topped pins

The first thing to do is paint the ball with the glue (some glues dissolve the polystyrene so be careful). Then roll the ball in the glitter or dab it all over – allow it to dry. Attach the sequins or beads with glass-topped pins and then wrap the ribbon around, leaving a hanging loop. We have also painted the balls (again be careful with your choice of paint) and used gold cord instead of ribbon.
