Paper Chains
This is a good activity for lots of children. You can have competitions to see who makes the longest chains.
What you need
Coloured paper – this can come from scraps of wrapping paper, old magazines, or paper decorated with poster paints (see gift wrap). It needs to be quite stiff otherwise it will tear.
Paper cutters and scissors
Scotch tape
Glue sticks
What to do
1. Cut loads of strips of paper (about 15cm long x 2cm wide).
2. Glue or tape the end of one together. Thread the next piece of paper through this circle and glue. Continue until the chain is as long as you want.
